Okay, I found them.

The correct original spelling of the generic name was Astrolepis
Eichwald, 1840 (Bulletin Scientifique, 23 Apr 1840).

The name was made available there. Proposed with brief diagnosis,
without nominal species included.
As far as I can see, the name is not preoccupied.

Asterolepis Eichwald, 1840 (Neues Jahrbuch, after May 1840)
https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.biodiversitylibrary.org%2Fitem%2F110847%23page%2F443%2Fmode%2F1up&data=05%7C02%7Ctaxacom%40lists.ku.edu%7C1898d4859ade46666d8f08dc6af7d635%7C3c176536afe643f5b96636feabbe3c1a%7C0%7C0%7C638502859901964366%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=2TlsGyl6XufA5GBaayOuoPHrTGtThyho9T%2BQLNjXwQE%3D&reserved=0
was an incorrect subsequent spelling of Astrolepis.

In Neues Jahrbuch the name was clearly used for the same taxon, placoid
fish with star-shaped scales.

Type A. ornata by subsequent monotypy by Eichwald, 1840 (Neues Jahrbuch:
p. 425).

So any spellings using Astero-... are incorrect.

If this helps.

Best wishes
Francisco
