A small correction; what you and Mosyakin are referring to is a
manifestation of "cancel culture", while "woke" is a separate cultural
phenomenon. Though the two may intersect, they are not directly linked,
and a person can easily be part of one cultural phenomenon and not part
of the other.

Otherwise, while it is potentially a manageable thing for peer review to
address such concerns going forward, we absolutely cannot retroactively
remove names that someone, somewhere, finds offensive; there is no
objective criterion for doing so, because "offensiveness" is an entirely
subjective thing.
