Dear John + John,

Thanks to this conversation I have done some updating of the relevant
records in IRMNG...

Until now a search for "Tricladia" gave this result:

   - *Tricladia* Decaisne, 1842
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1354295> (nomen
dubium) [Family:
   Caulerpaceae]
   - *Tricladia* Felder, 1874
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1354327>
(uncertain) [Family:
   Lepidoptera (awaiting allocation)]
   - *Tricladia* Mercet, 1918
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1354358>
(uncertain) [Family:
   Hymenoptera (awaiting allocation)]
   -

New/revised version:

   - *Tricladia* Decaisne, 1842
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1354295> accepted as
   *Caulerpa* J.V.F. Lamouroux, 1809
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1101397> [Family:
   Caulerpaceae]
   - *Tricladia* Felder, 1874
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1354327> accepted as
   *Cibyra* Walker, 1856
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1039355> [Family:
   Hepialidae]
   - *Tricladia* Mercet, 1918
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1354358>
(uncertain) [Family:
   Encyrtidae]
   - *Tricladia* Oberthür, 1894
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=11916259> accepted as
   *Burlacena* Walker, 1864
   <https://www.irmng.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=1103071> [Family:
   Zygaenidae]

(you will note a new instance of "Tricladia" has been added, missing from
Neave, based on Pitkin & Jenkins' "Butterflies and Moths of the World"
database at the NHM.)

I have left *Tricladia *Mercet as "uncertain" at this time since there
appears to be an available replacement name, *Tricnemus *Mercet, 1921 which
might take priority over John Noyes' suggested synonymy with *Paracopidosoma
*Hoffer, 1957 - any further advice welcome.

You will also spot that there is a homonym in botany, *Tricladia *Decaisne,
a green algal name currently treated as a synonym of *Caulerpa*.
