[Taxacom] Towards a bibliography of life

I've written a blog post on the bibliographic tool Mendeley and using
it to store bibliographies, with an emphasis on journals relevant to
taxonomy. The post is here: http://iphylo.blogspot.com/2010/10/mendeley-bhl-and-of-life.html
The basic idea is that Mendeley ( http://www.mendeley.com ) may be a
way the taxonomic community could assemble bibliographies (including
one for all taxonomic papers, which I grandly entitled the
"bibliography of life"). In the past there has been some discussion of
taxonomists building shared bibliographies (e.g., "CiteBank"). In my
post I argue that Mendeley may well be pretty much what we need to
make this happen.
As a start I've been creating lists of all articles published by
individual journals, and where possible linking these to content in
BHL. If anybody has relatively comprehensive lists of articles
published in a journal and would like to share them, please let me
know and I could add them to Mendley.
I'd also be curious as to how many people have come across Mendeley,
or indeed use it. For those who haven't heard of it, it is a free tool
to manage lists of papers and PDFs, runs on Windows, Mac & Linux, and
also on the web, and can be used with MS Word and Open Office to
create bibliographies when writing papers.
Regards
Rod
