It looks to me that the danger is just the reverse; somebody
in a desire to get results will feel tempted to start "turning
Wikipedia pages white", even if the content does not justify it.
The content on Wikipedia pages ranges from quite good to 
really horrible, and it may be prohibitively difficult to sort
this out.

[ On the upside, I see that EOL has indeed followed through
on its promise to include other classifications, even if only in a
limited fashion. NCBI closely follows APG, so at least it is now
possible to navigate the site. The Catalogue-of-Life-classification,
apparently put together by the proverbial monkeys with scissors
and glue, keeps upsetting me to the point of being unnavigable.]
