Dear John,
The Harvard University Herbaria recently purchased an Epson Expression
1640XL, and it seems most researchers are pleased with the images we've
posted on the web. While we do have to invert the specimens to obtain an
image, if it's done properly it has to be done only once.
We have only just begun to image types, but a few genera are relatively
complete. Images can be accessed via our website,
http://www.huh.harvard.edu/databases/index.html
Click on "Specimens", enter a generic name (Castilleja and Cirsium, e.g.,
are mostly complete), check the box marked "types only" and hit
enter. Select a taxon, then click on "FULL" or "HALF" in the "Images"
field of the specimen record.
