image analysis software

Good morning Taxacom,

We are in the process of looking into acquiring software which will
allow us to recombine images of the same object with different focus
settings into a single image with unlimited depth of focus. Now that
a few companies (SIS, Synoptics-Syncroscopy, and Leica) have put out
such softwares (efi module for analySIS, AutoMontage, and MultiFocus,
respectively) I am wondering if there exist published reports
comparing these softwares, or if unpublished information is available
somewhere.
