I'm linking some syllabi to this email and pasting book lists below. Happy to chat about what worked and what needed revision. Some courses taught in our core, some as upper level but available to students in and outside of the English major / minor. I included a very early syllabus and a most recent one. Tons of wins and losses over the years.
Best,

Hi all,
I just joined SLA. Pleasure to meet everyone! I’m not an academic but I write dystopian science baseball novels. Thank you for this link, Lisa. Not everyone thinks baseball will make it into the future:)
I look forward to getting to know you all better.
All the best from Brooklyn,

If you're open to speculative short stories, "Arthur Sternbach Brings the Curveball to Mars" might be of interest. Written by Kim Stanley Robinson, it first appeared in Asimov's Science Fiction in 1999; however I ran across it in one of his Mars Trilogy collections. Here's a link to the story online:

Subject: Text Suggestions?
Hello, All—
I wanted to try a bit of crowdsourcing as I’m designing a new gen. ed. level class in Sport & Literature. Though I’ve been delighted to participate in a SLA conference and have subscribed to Aethlon for 4-5 years, this is my first time teaching a class devoted to our topic. I’ve been looking into past issues of Aethlon for a few extra titles (novels, short stories, or poems) worth considering. If you have experience teaching classes on Sport & Lit (or just an idea for a text or two), I’d be delighted to hear any suggestions. Any suggestions are truly welcome, and I’d be particularly interested in suggestions of texts involving women’s sports. Please respond ‘off list’ (i.e. directly to me at mrsmalley3 at fhsu.edu<mailto:mrsmalley3 at fhsu.edu>). Thanks in advance!
Onward,
MS
