Dear Colleagues,
As you may know, Ambassador Victor Jackovich<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Jackovich>, the first US Ambassador to Bosnia & Herzegovina and later to Slovenia, is a member of the SLLC Advisory Board<https://sllc.ku.edu/victor-jackovich>. In this capacity he will be with us for the SLLC Convocation on Thursday, 29 September, as well as the Board meeting on Friday. He will also be here from noonish on Wed., 28 September and available in the first half of the day on the 29th, in case you would like to have him meet with any students. He writes:

I am focused these days on my work with the Vienna Economic Forum in Austria and with EU-related activities.  In addition, I am still engaged in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, either with my own projects, or with conferences, or with commercial entities.  /…/  I also wrote to Christian that I would be happy to participate in the "global opportunities" panel being organized for Thursday afternoon.  I'm staying at the Oradea Thursday and Friday night, so I will be centrally located for all the collateral events.

As before, I would also like to offer myself to any of your classes or those of your colleagues, if it would be of use for students to hear from me on current international affairs, or on more focussed regional (European) issues, or on other related subjects.

He is an excellent speaker, very accessible and helpful to students (he has helped KU students with scholarships and employment, as well as concrete advice). I highly recommend taking him up on his offer. There are no financial obligations to the speaker.
