Taxacom: WVU Herbarium digital camera issue

My copy stand Canon 5D Mark III is experiencing autofocus failure.  Please share any troubleshooting suggestions and/or recommendations for cleaning/repair service.  There do not seem to be local options & Canon will only sell replacement model.
