I have found the same problem, and complained to RG about it without any 
response. Previously I was always able to send a 'thank you' reply when 
someone sent a requested paper, but recently I had the same problem.

The only way around this issue, as I have done several times recently, 
is to write to the corresponding author on the paper and ask him to pass 
on your thanks to the co-author who sent the paper on RG, assuming they 
are different people.
