John,
This statement: "the fact is that panbiogeography has generated new
facts" shows a deep misunderstanding of logic and hypothetical-deductive
reasoning. Facts are -- they are not generated. You misunderstand the
process.
After that statement, nothing else can be taken seriously.
What you should be saying is that: A hypothesis of occurrence of this
taxon on that island was generated under a panbiogeographic model. This
hypothesis was supported by the subsequent discovery of the taxon in the
place hypothesized under that model, providing support for the model.
Support is not proof, keep in mind, but it is positive reinforcement of
the model's usefulness.
