Taxacom: Curator of Plants and Sustainability at the Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto, Canada) - deadline extended

A new position at the Royal Ontario Museum has been advertised this 
summer in Nature, Science, and elsewhere. Just recently the closing date 
for the competition was extended to 30 September as seen in the Science 
ad 
(jobs.sciencecareers.org/job/649258/curator-of-plants-and-sustainability/).

Taxacomers and Herbaria people, please draw the attention of competitive 
candidates to this opportunity. As the former curator, retired since 
2014, I can say that TRT has been well cared for using the resources 
available, and is well-represented online through the Canadensys 
Explorer (data.canadensys.net/explorer/#tab_simpleSearch) and GBIF, 
thanks to funding received by taking part in the Canadensys 
collaboration. This new hire is, of course, also a huge opportunity for 
the collection: a new curator, new research, new ideas for taking plants 
to the public, and a new, cross-appointed plant systematics professor at 
the University of Toronto who will teach undergrads and train graduate 
students.
