Agree or disagree, Quentin Wheeler makes some points regarding this
"minimalist approach" in his just-posted podcast on substack that are worth
consideration.

Personally, I'm kind of amazed that anyone thinks an effort that took the
time and resources of 24 authors from 10 institutions and only resulted in
6-7 species per author in one genus is such big deal. If I had 23 people
working with me ...
