Taxacom: [KU SUSPECT SPAM] Calling Coleoptera curators, please

Anyone, anywhere, responsible for a Coleoptera collection. If you have 
outstanding loans of Cetoniinae, sent some 30 years ago to a certain Mr. 
Eugene Marais, nominally attached to the State Museum in Windhoek (now 
the National Museum of Namibia), we may be able to help.

We have 77 boxes of his unreturned loan material, and while we have 
already contacted those museums where we could identify the source of 
the material, there remain quite a few where we have no idea where it 
came from. Mr. Marais is no longer a staff member here and we were 
unaware of the presence of this material till very recently. He left us 
no loan documentation, so we are relying on the affected institutions to 
identify their own material so that we can return it.

To this end we have set up a web site with photographs of the content of 
individual specimen boxes, as well as a mailing list (works the same as 
Taxacom) to allow communication between curators from the different

I know that many of you had sent loan reminders over the years, but 
never got any response. As a museum person myself, I know just how 
unacceptable this is. We look forward to working with you to fix this
