Hi to all
The French botanist Raymond-Hamet author of "Contribution à l'etude phytogeographique du genre Sedum (Candollea, 4: 1-51. 1929)" make use of the term "Ech. [Echantillon] auth. [authentique]" to indicate the reference specimen for the species being treated. Usually such specimens are in type folders in herbaria (but normally not annotated by him). I wonder if this indication is in accordance with Art. 7.11 of the ICN ("... including the term "type" (typus) or an equivalent ...") or not.
So the question is: the words "Ech. auth." can it be interpreted as "equivalent" of the modern word "type" and therefore the alleged "typifications" of Raymond-Hamet can be considered valid?
Best regards and thanks for the help.
Lorenzo Gallo
