Dear Andriy,
I recommend you the journal Biodiversity Informatics (
https://journals.ku.edu/jbi), published by the University of Kansas. The
journal is Platinum Open Access (POA), free to publish, free to read. It is
the evidence of what can be achieved when scientists are truly committed to
Open Access. The colleagues behind the journal have been active in
developing the field for many years, so it is not just "a journal with a
name".
It is not your case, but I wonder why scientists holding publicly funded
positions keep locking up their science behind paywalls with the ever
increasing number of POA journals available. And I also wonder when we will
stop paying greedy publishers with higher profit margins than oil companies
while with just the equivalent of the profit margin we could fund several
academic journals. Hopefully we will see some positive developments soon,
at least in Europe.
Cheers and good luck with your paper!

Dear taxacomers,
I have developed a shapefiles with geomorphological and phytogeographical
divisions of Ukrainian Carpathian Mts. Now I would like to publish a
datapaper together with these shapefiles, so everybody could use them for
their biogeographical studies.
This work was not financially supported, so it would be great to publish my
outcomes for free or for some small charge.
Could you recommend any good journal for my purposes?
I am considering about Oryx (https://www.oryxthejournal.org/), but not sure
whether they accept datapapers and whether they support publishing of
additional materials (i.e. shapefiles).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Best regards, Andriy.
