Fred - Nothofagus s.l. is definitely not pangondwanan, as there are no
records (living or fossil) from Africa, India or most of South America.
Paul - what's the problem with Fuscospora alessandri?
The new genera haven't been accepted in the Kew list or in Mabberley's
Plant Book. It's a classic case of taxonomic inflation.
