The International Graduate Course on Forest Recovery and Ecosystem Functioning of Tropical Montane Forests will be offered in Quito, Ecuador, October 1-7, 2018.

The course is intended to provide students with a broad view of the ecological and social processes involved in forest recovery, with a strong focus on the relations between plant biodiversity and carbon dynamics.
The course will teach students students how to formulate research hypotheses related to ecosystem and biodiversity recovery, design experiments, and analyze data using Linear Mixed Models and Multivariate Analyses.


Practical information:

Costs: The cost for participating in the course is 200 US dollars. This will cover food, lodging and transportation in the field.


Who: profesional and early MSc and PhD students in the areas of Biology, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics and Physics. Students will need mid to advanced language skills.


Where: The course will  take place at the campus of the Escuela Politécnica Nacional in Quito, and in the facilities of the Mindo Cloud Forest Foundation in the Andean Chocó.
