outdated name (nomenclaturally incorrect), versus using the later name to
circumscribe a subset of species from the original genus (nomenclaturally
permissible following genus splitting). The former may be an oversight or a
deliberate maintenance of an legacy name for reasons of prevailing usage,
while the latter should be based on some evidence in the published or
unpublished literature. Unfortunately in this case we do not currently have
the basis to tell which of these situations applies in this case...
