Hycleus oculatus (Thunberg 1791) was formerly placed in Mylabris - the appearance from photos is very Mylabris like but I assume Hycleus is distinct from Mylabris. There are 17 observations of the species on iNaturalist, mostly from southern Africa - Namibia (5), Botswana (3), South Africa (8) - plus 1 from Kenya.

Inaturalist has it as CMR Bean Beetle (Hycleus oculatus). There is a record of it from Botswana but I cannot find the author (desirable for Symbiota). Could someone tell me who it is please - using Zoological citation style please.  Is it a synonym of Hycleus ocellata (Olivier, 1791)<https://www.gbif.org/species/6955485>?  Or is that simply a fuzzy match? CoL does not include the genus even.
Mary
