Ray,
I could not see anything negative at all in Thorpe's post. His point is quite valid, and one that Ross and I were also repeatedly targeted with over many years - erroneous accusations relating to publication dates which were just juvenile tactics that attempted to undermine our legitimate taxonomic or nomenclatural acts. What he is saying is quite necessary and it shouldn't be treated with such cavalier (and misplaced) criticism.
Merry Xmas
Richard Wells
Stephen Thorpe,
your inference that the publication date of Hoser (2012)
naming three Stegonotus species has been somehow falsified
or maybe incorrect, is scandalous in the extreme on your
part and warrants an immediate apology by you.
I am not of the lying, thieving nature of Wolfgang Wuster
and his gang of thieves and would never stoop so low as to
falsify or backdate publication dates of anything I publish
as they have done!
For your benefit, HARD COPIES of the relevant issue of AJH
were sent and received by the major repositories (e.g.
Zoological Record) in April 2012, and pdfs of same placed
online a month later - all of which is readily confirmed by
anyone so inclined.
Significantly, in a non-peer reviewed publication by Kaiser,
Wuster and the rest of the gang in December 2012, these
unscientific morons and thieves cited and used the Hoser
2012 name and told their readers it was a non-species and
should not be used.
So even my enemies have confirmed the valid publication of
Hoser (2012), which predates the new name by five and a half
years..
Now just so you don't miss the unscientific Wuster gang
piece from 2012 (and nobody else does either), later
republished in March 2013, see,
Kaiser et al. 2013. Best Practices: In the 21st Century,
Taxonomic Decisions in
Herpetology are Acceptable Only When Supported by a Body
of Evidence and Published via Peer-Review, Herpetological
Review, 2013, 44(1), 8–23.
Or alternatively see the entries in their controlled
"The Reptile database" which also lists the Hoser
(2012) name as a synonym of Stegonotus diehli LINDHOLM, 1905
and has done so since at least 2013, easily confirmed by the
wayback machine or similar.
Of course none of these haters and liars have probably ever
set eyes on any Stegonotus, which strongly contrasts with my
position, having worked on and caught in the field,
specimens of various species since the early 1980's (so
what would I know about them?).
Therefore I am keenly awaiting your humble public apology
for such evil inferences against my good character.
Yours Faithfully
Raymond Hoser
