Are you a science graduate student looking to make a difference in science
policy and funding? Applications are being accepted for the 2016 AIBS
Emerging Public Policy Leadership Award. This award recognizes graduate
students in the biological sciences who have demonstrated initiative and
leadership in science policy.
Award recipients receive an expense-paid trip to Washington, DC to meet
with congressional policymakers about federal support for the biological
sciences. The program includes a day of policy and communications training
and the opportunity to network with other scientists.
Past award winners have cited their participation in the program as
fundamental in shaping their career trajectory. You can read about the
outcomes of the program at
http://www.aibs.org/public-policy/resources/EPPLA_Overview.pdf.
The application deadline is January 10, 2016. The application is available
at www.aibs.org/public-policy/eppla.html.
