It will be helpful in the future if replies identify which Code is being cited. In the ICN, Arts. 20.2 & 23.2 indicate for algal, fungal & plant names that generic and species epithets may be compose arbitrarily, but Principle V indicates that they be treated as Latin.

Art. 11.3 rules that for being available, a name may be derived from Latin, and that it may also be an arbitrary combination of letters. An incorrectly or unusually formed Latin word may either be regarded as a word derived from Latin, or if it is too incorrect to be regarded as a Latin word, then as an arbitrary combination of letters.

It would be easier to regard all specific names that are not declineable Latin adjectives, as arbitrary combinations of letters.
