[Taxacom] Ochterlony Valley

I believe Ken has the correct spelling of the place names. I have found "Avalance Hill" and "Silent Valley" are sometimes associated with Ouchterlony Valley. I'm guessing Mike's "estate" may be a tea plantation.

Subject: Re: [Taxacom] Ochterlony Valley

Hi Michael,
       I don't have a specific answer to the question, but I think that
finding the answer might be solved by searching for alternate
spellings---especially Ouchterlony (instead of Ochterlony) and perhaps
Gudalur instead of Gundalur. For instance I found the following quote
using such alternate spellings:
"Gudalur is much sheltered from the south-west by the spurs on the
northern boundary of the Ouchterlony Valley."
           ----------Hope this helps,
                                Ken

Hello,
Can anyone give me an acurate location for the Ochterlony Valley in the
Nilgiris of India? I know that it was a 45 sq mile estate 20 miles from
Gundalur, but that is it, not even which direction from Gundalur!
Thanks,
Mike
