[Taxacom] An objective observation for Taxacom members

Ditto. I think there is a limit to what is tolerable in a public forum, but we have not reached it yet. The Taxacom listserver honchos are, I think, willing to act if there is nearly universal outcry, or quickly if vileness for vileness' sake is rapidly repeated. Otherwise, occasional glimpses of the netherworld of near-psychos in the field is instructive. As they say, "once, a philosopher, twice ... "

I cast my lot with Stephen, Hans and Co. I would like to consider myself to
be a plant taxonomist at the beginning of my career and I am grateful for
Taxacom, in all its nitty gritty glory. While all posts may not be
specifically relevant to my field of study I greatly enjoy the virtual
atmosphere of discussion, occasionally heated or straying form topic as it
may be.

Joining this list has also gone a long way towards me seeing the lighter
side of what can be a discipline of structure and regulation. I also may be
a bit of a lurker but that does not diminish my enjoyment.

Carry on debating and sharing, and with my blessing!
