2010 is most likely to be between 15,000 and 20,000' ... I would say 
"speculated" 

 
given that the contribution to this total from N.Z. was approx. 0%, it is 
somewhat ironic that the above article credits funding to IO2 (=the publicly 
funded pot for N.Z. taxonomy)
