For the UBC (Vancouver, BC) herbarium data go to
http://herbie.zoology.ubc.ca/~botany/herbarium/search.php?db=vwsp.fp7
They have 12,640 Asteraceae specimens from British Columbia in their
database.
The Consortium of the Pacific Northwest Herbaria
http://www.pnwherbaria.org/
lists 2,145 specimens of Asteraceae from BC.

Subject: [Taxacom] Oh Canada!
Does anyone know why Canada has provided so little vascular plant
data to GBIF? Maybe this applies to other groups, but plants are
mostly what I find myself searching for. Just as an example, this map
http://tinyurl.com/333zglu makes it look as if the whole order
Asterales virtually drops out at the 49th parallel, which I somehow
don't think is the case .
