[Taxacom] How good is Zoological Record's harvesting of taxonomic data? [was Latin anyone?]

In response to the discussion on Zoological Record coverage I would like
to clarify a couple of points:
* Neil Evenhuis is correct in that harvesting mechanisms are much
improved since the 1990s, and while we would not claim to be perfect, we
believe we achieve a high level of completeness in coverage of taxonomic
and nomenclatural acts. We are always willing to add new publications to
our coverage and pick up omitted articles. If the details of the
omission are provided we can add the publication to our list for future
coverage or retrospectively cover the missed items. To help with that we
have a submissions page on our free Index to Organism Names portal
(www.organismnames.com) which allows researchers to provide publication
details, supply PDFs, or provide URLs/DOIs to ensure inclusion in
Zoological Record.
* We have already digitised the early volumes of Zoological Record from
Volume 1 onwards, unified the vocabulary over 146 years of data and
normalised the index entries in our database to as close to standard
format as possible; all years from 1864 are available as part of the
Zoological Record product online. The animal names extracted from those
early volumes are included in the free Index to Organism Names portal.
Again, any corrections/omissions can be reported through the portal so
that changes can be uploaded to the electronic records.
Thanks
