[Taxacom] Latin anyone?

Dear All,
     Being a primarily a zoologist, I haven't paid a great deal of
attention to the debate about whether botanical Latin should be required
or totally eliminated, but I frankly cringe at the thought that a choice
between these two extreme positions are the only two choices.                  
      It seems to me that a middle ground approach might be to RECOMMEND
descriptions in both, but to REQUIRE that botanical descriptions be in
either Latin or English (but not other languages).  It seems much less
desirable to adopt the more extreme positions of English-only or
Latin-only.   Restrict the choice if you must, but it seems reasonable
to restrict that choice to two languages instead of just one.
