Ken, I think you got that wrong. One less American baby is equivalent to maybe 100 fewer babies in the poorest countries, no matter how you measure 'ecological footprint' or 'carbon burden'. Let's see the world-eating USA get into negative growth territory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population_growth_rate).
