I will leave your religion to you, but indeed it is a really
weird approach. It is so in life, in general, but above all
in dealing with the zoological Code, which is chock-full of
words and phrases used in a special meaning that deviates
from what one would expect "based on an understanding of
the language in which they are written". The primary aim of
a Code of nomenclature is not to provide pleasant reading,
but to regulate nomenclature.
Of course, it would be nice if the readability of the zoological
Code would be improved. The basic sentiment that drives Dubois
is very recognizable and deserves sympathy, although the solution
he forwards does not look particularly workable.
