Mention of proper incorporation of multiple error estimates in GPS
coordinates brought to mind another area where excessively accurate
reported values are rampant.  It seems to be a common practice to
assume that all the information going into a molecular clock
calculation is statistically error-free, even when citing it form a
source that gave an estimated error.  In reality, each independent
source of error interacts to produce a larger final error.
