Because many of the technical words are close cognates across 
languages, Google's translation tool often can be adequate to get the 
gist of a taxonomic publication-you often know the words that it 
doesn't.  However, they don't do apostrophes in French (haven't 
specifically tried equivalent problems in other languages yet), despite 
the abundance of l' and d'.

Citing your own publications is one way to show the reader what you 
regard as the way to cite your name, as long as you are consistent in 
how you cite it.  (Too bad William Shakespeare didn't follow that 
advice.)
