I would have thought that word would have got out by now that
Pteridophyta are likely to be monophyletic indeed. But if Kinman's
system does not deal with monophyletic groups, Ken is free to make them
poly- or paraphyletic. 

But why is it that every now and then (is it indeed with increasing
frequency or is my memory failing me?) we need to be smothered on
Taxacom with this sort of discussion? It does not seem to result in
anything useful - certainly not in better informed opinions being
vented. 

If you would all label these postings properly, I can set up an
autodelete option.
