[Taxacom] Google Earth 5 solution to performance issues

I noticed the same performance issues on the Mac (OS 10.4.11) and
have since down graded to the previous version. There were also
issues about the Google updater that apparently wasn't user
configurable (How often did it poll for new versions--is this a
source of sluggishness as well? What if you didn't want to update
when "it" wanted to? etc.). I was really excited to hear about the
new version that apparently takes this from "Google Dirt" as one
oceanographer put it, to a true Google Earth, even though my
work-related uses of the software are limited to land. I hope that
these issues will soon be resolved.
Cheers!
