[Taxacom] TDWG 2009 - Montpellier - November 9-13

TDWG 2009 will be hosted by Bioversity International and Agropolis
International at the Corum Conference Centre in Montpellier, France,
November 9-13.

 

There will be an Executive Committee meeting on Sunday November 8th and
plenary sessions on Monday 9th and Friday 13th. The plenary sessions will
include a half day for a symposium organised by Bioversity and Agropolis.  

 

Tuesday to Thursday will be reserved for three themes.  One of these themes
will relate to agricultural biodiversity.  The Executive Committee will
recommend to the Programme Committee (being setup) two others from among
those submitted to me at or after TDWG 2008.  These themes will be topics of
high relevance and interest and ones around which we can develop a three-day
programme of seminars, symposia, workshops, hackathons, etc.  

 

It is possible that some sessions (e.g. ontology workshops) may be shared
between themes, and that a single theme may have multiple sessions running
at the same time (e.g. a hackathon and a symposium).

 

We want to encourage as much involvement as possible of the TDWG groups
within the themes. The responsibility for this will be with the 'Theme
Coordinators', the Programme Committee and the Group Conveners.

 

A TDWG 2009 web site will be established shortly. Further details will be
announced as soon as they are available. We hope to open registration around
the middle of the year.

know ASAP.
