[Taxacom] Species Pages - where are the online descriptions?

Hi all,
One take-home message from this thread so far might be a recognition that a single point of collation of all this information is definitely beneficial - and then a commitment to use it and keep the relevant information up-to-date. My vote would be to use the TDWG database cited below, since this has a reasonable critical mass already and also to my mind is a reasonable if not exact fit with the TDWG mandate - also you do not have to be a member of TDWG to contribute to it.
(A quick check and yes, I did remember to register the three main projects I am involved with there, after some prodding - thanks to Lee Belbin!)
Regards - Tony

Maybe we need a similarly informative thread on what is a species page.

I seem to recall that there is an organization out there that is already trying to do this. Can you point me to a press release, grant proposal or white paper about this?
Here are a few good places to start: http://www.eol.org/content/partners, http://www.tdwg.org/biodiv-projects/projects-database/
