[Taxacom] New Blog Post: Calling Time on Biological Nomencla

Dang!  I *wrote* a long comment, but I guess I failed to click the appropriate sequence of submission confirmations (but I thought I did).

No time to re-write it now, but basically I said these were well-established and -understood issues, and a series of initiatives are addressing them; namely:

1) The emergence of a common architecture (GNA) that is *NOT* "just another aggregating nomenclator", but rather a (or at least intended to be a) non-partisan architecture for bridging electronic representations of taxon names and concepts via GUIDs (GNUB), plus tools to form such bridges with datasets containing only text-string names (GNI).

2) A gathering of representatives of three of the major nomenclatural Codes (Bacteria, ICBN, ICZN) following the e-Bisophere meeting, which I found to have a much more encouraging outcome than I would have predicted (in large part oriented in the context of stuff mentioned in #1 above).

Plain-english explanations of all of these are in the works...
