NSCA–SPNHC Joint Meeting
Collection Stewardship: Challenges in a Changing World
13-17 May 2008

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Join us in Oklahoma City (OKC), OK May 13-17, 2008 for the Joint
Meeting of the:
Natural Science Collections Alliance (NSC Alliance) and the
Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC)
Registration—If you have not registered yet, we encourage you to do so
soon. Registration is still open. See the conference website for
on-line registration.
Program—The program, including the plenary talks, symposia, invited and
contributed presentations, posters, and abstracts will be posted on the
website soon! Authors will be notified by late April of the scheduling
of their presentations in the program.
Vendor’s Lunch—The Vendor’s Lunch is full!
SIGs Lunch—Six of the eight Special Interest Groups are full! The
Student Member Roundtable and Social Sciences Permits, Regulations, and
Legal Issues are still open.
Trips and Museum Tours—Field trips to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife
Refuge and Arbuckle Mountains Geology and White Mound are still open!
Still open are the SNOMNH Earth/Social Sciences Tour and the Film, Q&A,
and Partial Tour.
The University of Oklahoma Museums Tour and SNOMNH Morning and
Afternoon Life Sciences/Services Tour are full. The Oklahoma History
Center Tour has been cancelled. Check the meeting website for more
information.
Hotel—At this time, there are no available rooms at the Skirvin Hilton.
Some rooms, however, may be released after mid-April by the organizers
of two smaller meetings that are being held concurrently with the
NSCA-SPNHC meeting. For hotel information or reservations, go to:

A contracted room block has been obtained at the Sheraton Oklahoma City
Hotel located 0.16 miles from the Skirvin (~5 minute walk). Call
1-800-325-3535 (toll free) or (405) 235-2780 to make reservations;
on-line reservations are not available. Indicate the group name '2008
NSCA-SPNHC' to receive the conference rate.
Workshops—All workshops are still open but are filling up!

Social and Banquet—Tickets are still available to dine with the
dinosaurs, mingle with a mammoth, view the spectacular galleries at the
Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History! Music during the social
and banquet will be provided by internationally known guitarist Edgar
Cruz. After dinner, dancing and entertainment will be to the lively
music of a DJ!
