The publication after the name could be a link to the pdf of the original
publication. Apart from online storage issues this could be done and would
be a great aid.

The pdf links can also be made to the pdf's provided for free by the
journals themselves.

Yes, certainly. But it need not be limited it to free pdf's: even when there
is a charge for downloading the pdf, a link to a journal could still be
useful, to subscribers, or in anticipation.

But, obviously, the most convenient solution would be to have all files on
the site itself (preferably page by page, for those with a slow connection).
