[Taxacom] New botanical resource online

Colleagues, 
I would like to bring to your attention the recent release on the  
internet of Kew's central herbarium catalogue including images of  
many specimens: 
		http://www.kew.org/herbcat 

The catalogue currently contains c 200,000 records of either dried 
herbarium specimens or of spirit collections held at Kew.  More  
than 58,000 of these records relate to type specimens.  We are  
embarking on an programme to incorporate data sets built over the  
last 10-20 years by previous projects at Kew and thus anticipate  
that the catalogue will grow significantly.   

More than 50,000 specimen images have been scanned digitally  
and the number available to view across the internet will also grow  
each day. 

We welcome your views on how this new tool might be improved to 
better meet your needs.
