Linne or Linnaeous? (in Russian or maybe in Korean)

Yes, English (which I had chance to learn from the best English teachers in Western Siberia) IS the modern Latin, and Linnaeus of course would agree that we need ONE, common language -- at least in taxonomy. 

By the way....has anybody noticed that the person who triggered this heated debate--a native of Korea--did not write his (or her?) rather simple question in Korean?

Never occurred to your mind that very few people may understand French? I can read and understand it, but I do not feel comfortable in writing in it, for example, but why should I use French? I am not an anglo-saxon, but I prefer to write in English, more people can read and understand me (we are here to communicate, right?). And if I have to make an effort to speak and write still another language besides English  (and I do not speak only English, besides my mother tongue, Italian), why should it be French? To know a foreign languages opens up our mind to a new culture, to new and fascinating ways of thinking, why should I be willing to invest part of my time in learning a language whose speakers enjoy classifying languages according to a supposed superiority or inferiority in status?

No thanks, just say no.
