Kew Gardens has released an update to our information resource
discovery service called ePIC, the electronic Plant Information
Centre. From the ePIC interface at
www.kew.org/epic/
you can now search for plant information across 11 databases held
at Kew, and also our web site, in one action. This release adds the World
Checklist of Monocotyledons to the set of resources which are available. For
further information about these resources, look at
www.kew.org/epic/datasources.htm
The checklist currently provides synonymy and distribution for four families:
Acoraceae, Araceae, Arecaceae and Orchidaceae, but will eventually cover all
of the Monocotyledon families. It is also accessible directly from our website at
www.kew.org/monocotChecklist/default.jsp
Taxacomers are invited to try out the service, and please let us
have your comments by email to epicfeedback at kew.org. Thanks,
Mark Jackson
