Hello all: I am new to the list and uncertain whether this is an
appropriate forum, but I am having great difficulty getting any factual
information on the role played by Culicidae in pollination. I work in
Denali Park, and part of the local knowledge is that 'skeets are important
pollinators especially of blueberries. The only studied I have been able
to find of wild Vaccinium sp. found that mosquitoes were NOT significant
pollinators. I believe dipterids are generally more important as
pollinators at high latitudes, but 'skeets? If anyone has any information
or links I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Alan Seegert
