Registration revisited

All -

Regarding the note I sent to various lists a couple weeks back, about the
article on taxon name registration that appeared in the recent issue of
Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature, I sent a concurrent note to the author
and the editor of the Bulletin requesting that an electronic version of the
article be made available online. I recently received a message from Joan
Thorne (the author), with links to two web sites where the article is
available:

http://www.biosis.org/register.html
http://www.iczn.org/register.htm

I would like to encourage everyone with an interest in the future of
taxonomy to read the article, consider the implications, and contribute to
discussion on if and how such a registration system should be implemented
such that it would be embraced by the taxonomic and broader biological
research communities.

I apologize for the delay in getting this information distributed -- I am
currently traveling and have only intermittent access to email. Alas, that
will also curtail my contributions to any ensuing discussions (for better or
worse).

Aloha,
Rich

P.S. Again, my apologies for cross-posting.
