Latin forms compound words only slightly less grudgingly than cladists form
paraphyletic groups. If you want to string words together, Greek is the way
to go. Sometimes Latin phrases are hyphenated for use as epithets, e.g.
_oris-campestris_, "inhabiting the fields by the coast".
