        Richard Wunderlin (USF) provides this information:


"Fakahatcheegrass is the local Florida name and sometimes horticultural
name
for eastern gamagrass (Tripsacum dactyloides).  "Fakahatchee Strand" is
a
cypress swamp is southern Florida."
