Canid question

This is off usual subjects, but relates to taxonomy. A colleague has
recently discovered that the New Guinea singing dog has a uvula (S = 8).
Veterinarians consulted say domestic dogs do not have uvulas, but we can not
find anything in the literature concerning this for wild canids.  Anyone
know if wild canids have this appendage?  Can anyone suggest places to check
in the literature?  Thank you in advance for any assistance.
