I have used one Meiji scope, and it serves quite well for sorting and general
id's, etc.  We will probably buy more of them for such purposes.  However, the
one we have is not adequate for careful study of small specimens.  There is not
enough magnification in the standard Meiji model, and I doubt that the
resolution at extended (60+) magnifications, through diopters and higher power
occulars, would measure up to the Leica that I use for research purposes.
